Two friends are going to join us midway through our trip in Seville. They are flying into Madrid on United and plan to take the train to Seville.
Is there a place at the Madrid airport where they can buy a Tarjeta Dorada for Renfe discounts? I am thinking it may be easier for them to do it there than at the train station.

First, there is no train at the Madrid airport. However, there is a Renfe ticket office on the lower level just opposite when you get the buses. I have no idea if they sell the pass there. We have always bought ours at a train station. Have your passport ready.
Yes, you can buy a Tarjeta Dorada at the Airport. There is a small Renfe office where you can purchase one. You HAVE to have one PRIOR to purchasing a discount ticket online. They ask for the number on the ticket when you book.
So, she could buy her Tarjeta Dorada and immedietely thereafter buy her ticket, right?
