I have not been to Tossa de Mar, but I've taken a lot of buses in Spain and elsewhere in Europe, and I believe every inter-city bus I've ridden in western Europe has had a luggage hold underneath it. Those buses might be used by local people making their way to an airport to begin a vacation, so there is a need for luggage storage. There are usually overhead racks for smaller bags as well.

If your destination isn't the last one, you may need to remind the driver as you get off the bus that you need to retrieve luggage.

Sure it does... in the undercarriage compartment, which is very large. And you don't need to ask the driver anything as Tossa is a frequented destination so you won't be the first, nor the second, nor the tenth in the bus to stop there. :)

Thanks for the info. Have booked Hotel Diana for two nights. Looking forward to exploring the old city and hiking. The Tossa tourist office has some recommended walks along the coast that we are going to do. Hoping for not-rainy weather.

One other item. Should we pre-book the tickets or wait and buy them as walk-ups. We won't have internet the 10 days before we arrive.

Would you be in Barcelona(?) for a few days before heading to Tossa? The locals would have a better idea than I, but I wouldn't expect an early sell-out of that bus. However, I have definitely seen buses marked as full when I checked the schedule on a vending machine in the station. Those were mostly departures for the same day. However, if you're thinking of making the trip on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday or holiday, it could be riskier.

When do you plan to make the trip? I suppose buses may run more frequently during the summer, but for Tuesday, October 1, I see only two Moventis buses in the morning, departing at 8:45 and 10:45. That's not a huge amount of capacity.

We arrive on 30 October, a Wednesday. We plan to return to Barcelona on Friday, November 1.
