Bus tickets

Here are 2 questions for the group:

1) Is there any reason to buy bus tickets early or is it ok to buy in Spain when needed? Is there any danger that they will sell out?
Will be traveling by bus from Granada to Ronda and Ronda to Malaga.

2) we will be traveling by train (I think) from Malaga to Cordoba -- any reason to get the train ticket early (i.e., is this route in danger of selling out?

Thanks everyone!

Unless it is a special weekend or something unusual going on, we just bought bus tickets 30 minutes or so before leaving. Never had a problem. Trains are even better. Rarely if ever sell out. However, sometimes deep discounts are available for early purchase on line but those tickets come with heavy restrictions - no refund, no exchange or very limited exchange. The only reason to buy train tickets early is for the discount.

I think it's always wise to purchase your tickets as you enter the town. It lets you have a definite exit strategy and eases stress.

Frank is right. The discounts are fabulous. Also, if you are riding any of the intercity express trains (i.e. from Barcelona to Madrid, Madrid to Sevilla) you must have a reservation. If you plan on going on a slower local train, you do not, and in fact, those cannot sell out, because people can just stand on trains if need be.
The bus you definitely don't need to book too far in advance, but sometimes it's a good idea to buy once you are in your destination for the next city. The buses in Spain are clean and pretty efficient. Be aware that some don't have toilets.
