Is it possible to book a bus from Seville to Granada in advance? (Trip is in March) Or, can I book the bus while in Seville, a few days ahead of departure? Have tried to book early, but the bus website doesn't take American credit cards. Please advise, thanks! Karen

If you want to book early use PayPal. I’ve had this trouble as well but PayPal works perfectly.
Buying a few days ahead should be fine, though. Unless it’s Easter week, then I might look into if busses sell out over the holiday. I don’t know that either way but it’s a busy time.

I'd be concerned about the lead-up period to Easter. I've never traveled in Spain during March/April, but I have occasionally seen Spanish buses sell out before departure time, and I've been on many that looked like near sell-outs.

We booked our tickets online at the ALSA website with a US credit card. The trick was to make the small donation they requested at the bottom of the page. I tried using several different websites first and but the page never completed the transaction. Our friends had inadvertently checked the donation and their card went right through. I did that the next time and had no problem. We had also notified our credit card company that we were making online purchases in Spain.
We had the same concern since we are traveling at the end of March.
It was easy to select the seats we wanted by clicking the button by the place where they list your seat assignment.
