Bus from Sevilla to Cadiz

We will be travelling from Sevilla to Cadiz near the end of October. It looks to me that travel by bus may be the best way to go. However, I am having a great deal of difficulty establishing where the bus station is in Cadiz. I gather it depends on the bus company and that there are several options from Sevilla (although that is a bit confusing as well). Comes looks like it has most options re times. Some sites say Comes station is Plaza de la Hispanidad, which appears to be a long way from where we will be staying; others say Plaza de la Sevilla, which is much closer. Does any one have experience with this route/best way to travel between the two cities? Thanks v. much.

It looks on Google Maps like the Plaza de la Sevilla is right in front of the Cadiz train station, so if that's a convenient location, there's plenty of direct train service, about hourly.

We took the Renfe train from Sevilla to the Cadiz train station a few years ago. It was a pleasant trip and inexpensive (13.25 euros at the time). I know there was a bus station right next to the train station because, a few days later, we took the bus to Granada from Cadiz. When we were in Cadiz, our hotel was in the old town. We took a cab to our hotel, only to find out that it was actually a very doable walk from the train/bus station to the old part of town. When we headed to the bus station to catch our bus to Granada from Cadiz, we walked.

We also took the Renfe train from Sevilla to Cadiz. They run quite often and are cheap.

Agreed with previous posters. Made the trip by train this past April, albeit in reverse (the route, not the train!) from Cadiz to Seville. You are right, buses can be confusing due to the variety of bus companies, but they are your best bet for some routes. Both buses and rains are fast, clean, and easy to use in Spain. For this route, (Sevilla - Cadiz) I think train is your best bet. Check the RENFE website for schedules - for our trip there was only one direct non stop train for the day we were travelling, the rest made several stops or had connections.
