We are going from Gibraltar to Tangier. Best option for us seems to be walk across the border to the La Linea bus station, bus to Algeciras bus station, and walk to Algeciras port to catch a ferry.
Has anyone done this trip, and can reassure me that Spanish buses are reliable and on-time?
How about the walk from the Algeciras bus station to the port? Doable? Are taxis available in Algeciras?
Any other advice for this journey?

L-V - Monday through Friday (lunes-viernes)

Thanks. I'm familiar with the bus schedule. My questions are a bit more about real life, as opposed to print:
Are the buses usually reliably on time? (not everything in Spain happens on schedule)
How do you pay bus fare at La Linea? Ticket from the ticket window? Cash on the bus? Contactless on the bus?
Would you walk or taxi from the Algeciras bus stop to Algeciras port? (Google Maps says 10 mins, but is it an easy walk, or a congested traffic snarl?)
