Bus from Granada to Seville which sites are legitimate for buying tickets)

Hello:

My wife and I are going rom Granada to Seville in September. I looked at trains and it appears the only choices are super early 6 am or 3:30 PM. nothing in between) So I may take a bus. Does anyone have experience in terms of where to buy tickets in advance online (don't know what sites are legitimate) and where you get the bus in Granada and are there various drop-offs in Seville or is there a main one? We will have luggage since will be in Spain for 10-12 nights.

Thank you

Chris

I took the opposite route by bus - Seville to Granada thru Alsa.
Seville (Plaza de Armas) and Granada Bus Station

Copying the addresses that are on my ticket.

ESTACION DE AUTOBUSES, AVENIDA JUAN PABLO II 33, GRANADA

ESTACION DE AUTOBUSES PLAZA DE ARMAS, AVENIDA CRISTO DE LA EXPIRACION s/n, SEVILLA

You can store your luggage under the bus. I remember in Granada, I took a local bus from the tourist area to the bus station. It was a short distance. For Seville, I just walked to the station (20 minutes walking). But if you have luggage, you can probably figure out some type of transportation to get to the station. And in case curious, there are bathrooms on the bus, but in an interesting location. They are by the middle door, not visible unless you walk to that section and look down.

Renfe won't have uploaded all September trains yet, so if you're looking at tickets this far out you won't get a complete picture of your options. At this point it's better to look close in, say the same weekday but next week or in two weeks, to get an idea of what the options would look like. The exact times may change, but they'll give you an idea of what the complete schedule will look like. (I see 4 trains a day, including one around noon, from Granada to Seville.)

Thank you Andrew. Great advice. I just checked and yes I see what you mean. I see one around 11 and another around Noon.

Ill wait to we get closer. Still have plenty of time

PS I see you are from Queens my wife used to live in Forest Hills. We are in Bergen County now.

The Spanish buses are quite comfortable, but in my (considerable) experience there is no certainty about the availability of a toilet on the bus. There may be one, but it may be kept locked. Just a word to the wise.

Seville has two inter-city bus stations, so "Plaza de Armas" is key information. I believe Granada has only one bus station, and it is indeed quite some distance from the center of town. Even the train station is a bus ride from the center.

Thank you appreciate the input. Looks like we may end up with a train but nice to have both options in case train times don't work out.

In March 2022, I took the bus on this route but in the opposite direction, starting in Seville, arriving in Granada. The bus goes in a more direct route on the roads and takes about 3 hours versus the train stopping in Cordoba and taking 2 hours 47 minutes. The bathroom on the bus was not locked. I don't remember any problem finding or getting to and from the bus stations. I always print my tickets and carry them in a folder or folded in a stiff translucent pencil case. Make sure the crease doesn't go through the QR code or barcode if you fold your printed ticket. What if your phone dies?

www.Renfe.com. is the website for RENFE trains.

www.Alsa.com. is the website for the ALSA long distance bus.

It is NOT ideal to resort to buying bus or train tickets from any other ticket reselling website.

Thank you Michael appreciate it. If train doesn't work out at least I know bus is a viable option. Thanks for the info. Yes I will buy my tickets direct on their sites

We took the bus after looking at the train options and it was a peaceful ride. We have taken 3 Alsa buses in Spain where the rides took 1 to 3 hours and there were no passenger toilet emergencies. The 3 hour ride made a rest stop.
