Has anyone attended the annual Blanes Fireworks competition on the Costa Brava? If so, would you recommend it? Is it an easy trip from Barcelona? I think it will probably be necessary to get a hotel for the night as the competition starts at 11pm. I see Enric is back. I hope he sees this and replies.
Hi Steve. Never been in the competition of Blanes but it's supposed to be one of the best -another one being in Tarragona during Santa Tecla festivities and also the one in Barcelona during La Mercè.
You can very easily reach Blanes from Barcelona by train. One every half an hour and it's a 90' ride departing from the centre (Plaça Catalunya) in Barcelona. You'll find blanes in square 9D of this map: http://bit.ly/BCNRodalies For schedules: http://rodalies.gencat.cat/ Tickets to be bought at the station. Train is not a high speed train, it's a regular commuting train.
