Birthday Dinner in Barcelona

... no really much help, huh, Steve? LOL!

What sort of venue do you look for? what sort of ambience (casual, low-key, top restaurant...)? what sort of food? or else, any type of cuisine you don't like? given you're going to be in Catalonia, would you like to taste Catalan cuisine?

Is this a no-cost-is-too-much blowout, extra special birthday dinner? There are a couple options that are pricey, but very worthwhile, and outstanding. Is upper end what you’d be considering?

I will just mention two places where we enjoyed outstanding food and ambiance when in Barcelona 2 years ago. Both are in the moderate price range ( for Barcelona), not stratosphere or Michelin-star price range. I would be happy with either one for a “ big birthday”, but if you cannot make up your mind I suggest this one:

Restaurant 9Nine in Eixemple is more modern and “ trendy” (and probably more expensive). I cannot find a website so am providing the TripAdvisor page with photos and reviews:

I cannot find menus online either; it may be they offer only set menus and no ala carte.

Thanks everyone for your response. Sorry I didn’t give you more info. My wife is vegetarian, but finds something nice everywhere we go. I’ll check menus before we select a choice. Just want a nice pleasant place to enjoy on your birthday.
