Bilbao to Paris Flight timing question

After completing our RS Basque tour we are planning to return to Paris by plane from Bilbao. Is it reasonable to travel on the same day as our flight home from CDG airport? It seems like a waste to fly into CDG one morning and out again the next day considering the cost of travel to and from the hotel to CDG. Our flight to LA departs at 4:40 and we could get an early morning flight out of Bilbao.

I assume the tickets are not linked on the same itinerary. You're taking a risk that the Bilbao flight could be cancelled and you miss the flight out of CDG.
