Any thoughts on bus vs train?
also, anyone have accommodations in Madrid for 3 nights that they just loved?
thanks
Though the bus is cheaper and quicker by 1 hour compared to the train there are no toilets on board. The trains have toilets on every car and it would be easier to bring food on board and eat it without the smell everywhere.
Suzi - Hotel Europa in the Puerta del Sol district was a great location for me in Madrid because it was close to most of the major attractions. I walked to many sights from there and there are plenty of restaurants and nightlife action. If your're looking for a great area to spend 3 nights, book there.
Buen viaje!
We went the opposite direction, Madrid to Bilbao, 6 years ago, and took the train. I don’t recall whether price, travel duration, departure/arrival times were the deciding factor, but the train was our choice. Worked well.
In Madrid, we got an apartment a 4-minute walk southeast from the royal palace for a week, and its washing machine was a major amenity, in addition to its great neighborhood and excellent location. Not sure if they’d take a 3-night booking, though.
