We will be ending part of our visit to Basque county in Bilbao and will need to get to Burgos the same day to meet up with our hiking group. What is the best way to get there?? (Not driving a car ourselves)

ALSA has some buses taking as little as 1 hr. 45 min., though some departures take substantially longer. It appears trains take longer, and there is often a transfer required.

Your best option is the regular bus service run by ALSA. https://www.alsa.es/ Cheap, reliable, fast, cleanest, modern, safest.
