WE will be visiting the Guggenheim in Bilbao in a scandalously short stay in Basque Country before we motor on to Madrid. We have about 24 hours total to visit the museum, get some sleep and see as much of the surrounding area as possible. We will have access to a car. Suggestions, please?

Getaria, San Sebastian, Hondarribia in a whirlwind will give you a taste of the region. Hopefully you will be at the Guggenheim first thing in the morning, stop off in Getaria and San Sebastian. Sleep in San Sebastian or Hondarribia
( nice Parador there.) You will want to return. We spent a wonderful week in this area.
