Best way to visit Gibraltar then travel to Fes?

Hi there - planning to travel Seville > Cordoba > Granada, and fit a day trip in somewhere before travelling to Fes in Morocco.

Can anyone suggest the best way to do so? Ideal would be departing Gibraltar after a day of exploring and then travelling to Fes for the night.

Thanks - R.

Fes is close to 200 miles from Tangier, the landing point for most car ferries; that's for what seems to be the fastest route. I think it's extremely doubtful that your rental-car company would allow you to take the car on a ferry to Morocco. That means trying to link ferry arrival time with some form of public transportation. For information on Moroccan trains, check here as a start: https://www.seat61.com/Morocco.htm . My guess is that buses will be more frequent than trains, but possibly a lot slower. Whether grand (shared) taxis do that run, I do not know, but conditions on those can be very cramped, and it might be a bit too much living-like-a-local for you.

It would be far simpler to fly if there's a flight available. Check skyscanner for something out of Seville or Malaga.

I see that this is a follow-on from your previous thread. There is no particularly direct, convenient route from Gibraltar to Morocco. Royal Air Maroc operates a nonstop flight from Gibraltar to Tangier on some Sundays. More flights options vary by day of week and day of travel, nonstop from Malaga to Tangier and from Seville to Fes and Marrakesh; see www.skyscanner.com.

From Gibraltar/La Linea de Concepcion, you can take a bus to Algeciras or Tarifa, then passenger ferry from Algeciras to Tanger Med Port or from Tarifa to Tanger Ville Port (see locations on Google maps), then taxi or bus from either one of those to Tanger train station, then 5-hour train to Fes (or a bus to Chefchaouen, as in your earlier plan).
