Best way to get from Seville to Lisbon, & Lisbon hotels.

Hello,

We are booked on the Best of Spain tour early next year. The tour ends in Seville. We would like to travel to Lisbon from Seville and spend a few days there before flying home. Has anyone taken the train on this route? If so, do you recommend it? If not, what other means of scenic transport are available and recommended?

Also, we are looking for hotel recommendations in Lisbon. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately, train travel between the two cities is a 10+ hour, 3 change battle. Most sensible way is to fly. If not take the bus…

Shame. I was hoping there was an AVE like the one between Madrid and Barcelona. Flying is definitely the way to go.

How about hotel suggestions?

The bus is better than the train--see if you can transit through Merida, if you are interested in Roman ruins, there are some stellar ones there.

You can fly TAP Airlines from Seville to Lisbon. That is what I would do if I were you. It's a short flight and so easy. Then you have more time in Lisbon. Our hotel was not in the center where most people like to stay. It was near Edward VII park and Marques de Pombal and a short walk from the Gulbenkian Museum. The Hotel Real Palacio. We liked staying here because it was in a quiet neighborhood. We would walk down Ave Liberdade all the way to Praca do Comercio. Gave us the chance to enjoy this lovely leafy street and stop in various small shops, etc. There are several metro stops nearby or you can use taxis, which is what we did when we didn't feel like walking. I know this location is not for everyone but we liked it.

When in Lisbon, I stayed at Brown’s Boutique Hotel. I highly recommend it. Comfortable, chic room. Super convenient to all sites and to transportation. Truly in the heart of Lisbon.

The best ground solution is bus, or bus and train.

For Bus and Train, you can catch a bus Seville to Tavira or all the way to Faro, then train, Tavira to Faro (if you only take the bus to Tavira, then Faro to Lisbon.

For bus all the way, you likely still go along the coast until Faro, then North.
