Any advice on going from airport to hotel near La Rambla? about how much is taxi or other alternative?

There is a shuttle bus which runs from the airport to the plaza at the top of La Rambla. I have ridden it to the airport. About 1/2 hour or so in the morning. You might check the airport/transportation and find more information as to schedule, fares, location of pickups, etc.

Agree that the Aerobus is the way to go. You can buy the ticket as you board the bus. There is plenty of space for storing luggage.

Ditto HJ and Mary. It's the Aerobus. It takes you to the Plaza Catalunya stop which is at the top of La Rambla. La Rambla does have some length down to the sea so if you are staying on La Rambla you might have a bit of a walk. We were about 1/2 way down and the walk wasn't bad at all. You get to pass all of the tapas bars where you could be having lunch or dinner.

I took the aerobus last time and it was easy. Takes about 30 minutes and drops you off at Place de Catalunya the top of the Ramblas. From there you could walk to your hotel. A taxi will run about 30 euros.
