This July my wife and I will be landing in Madrid and ultimately headed to Barcelona using planes, trains, and/or buses. Assuming we want to spend a couple of nights in Cordoba, Granada, and Seville in between, is there a logical way to sequence those cities to make the travel easiest and most efficient? Thanks so much for your help. Paul
Of course Barcelona is in the opposite direction from Andalucia, and three hours by train from Madrid.
Going to Cordoba and Sevilla is really easy on the high speed main train line. Granada is most easily reached from Cordoba by train or bus (we did it by car since we were also visiting Ronda; that was easy too with excellent roads.). Madrid and Cordoba are about 2 hours apart by train and Cordoba and Sevilla are less than an hour apart by train,

Have you considered doing the Cordoba - Granada - Cordoba - Sevilla route with 2 to 3 nights in each and then flying back to Barcelona to avoid the longest train trip (about 6 hours)?
Sounds like a great trip!
I’d probably take this route:
Madrid > Córdoba > Sevilla > Granada > fly to Barcelona, then fly home from there.
How many nights will you be spending in Spain?
Don’t forget to book your Alhambra tickets ASAP. They become available 3 months in advance.
As you may already know, expect very hot weather in July.
Enjoy your trip!
