We have rented an apartment in the Eixample Area of Barcelona. It is at Diputacion and Rambla de Catalunya. Our flight arrives and 17:00. Just wondering about train or if taxi is best way. There will be 5 adults.

Take a taxi. It's as just as cheap as the bus for 5 people and more convenient because it will drop you in front of the door.

.... most taxis WON'T take all five of you because legally it's 4 PAX max per car. So, when you get to the front of the queue, just ask the marshall (who's organising the taxi pickups) to call a minivan-type for you. You might need to wait a few minutes, but one will come soon enough to pick you guys up. Note there's an additional charge for this minivan-type taxis (3.10€) which will be charged to the amount shown in the meter upon arriving at the destination, same than the additional charge for exiting the airport (3.10€), plus extra luggage -if that's the case.
