We're planning on renting a car to see the White Hill Towns after we leave Sevilla, but want to make sure that we rent in the most convenient city/town. We'll be home basing in Ronda (side tripping to Granada) and then end our time in Malaga. Where should we rent a car, assuming we'll drop the car in Malaga?

I would think you have more choices (and hence perhaps lower rates) if you pick up in Sevilla over a smaller centre. It is much easier to navigate out of a city than into one, in my opinion at least.

Having made the trip in the reverse direction, I'd advise renting in Sevilla. There are no major rental agencies in Ronda. I would drive from Sevilla through Arcos and then the White Towns to Ronda. Be prepared for a twisty, hilly ride through very scenic country. Check with Eurocar.com for reasonable rates.
