Best seats for a show at Palace of Catalan Music

I want to take in a show during my visit to Barcelona. I toured the theater last year but forgot how high the stage is from the first row. Currently, there are plenty of seats available in the first row. I'm not short nor super tall. Should I opt for a seat in the second or third row from the stage?

I remembered it being about a meter, and I just checked some of the pictures I took there, and there is one with what appears to be an average height woman standing against the stage, the edge is about half-way from her waist to her arm pits. So, about a meter.

I also have a question about best seat. I have looked at the site's seating map and can't figure it out. Seems like many people think you should sit up in the balconies for best view. Which area are these balcony seats located in, area a, b, c, or d (most expensive to least expensive)? Seems like balcony seats would actually be cheaper tickets.

Any suggestion about best area level would be appreciated.

We were there last week and we sat about midway back in the bottom section... there were little box-type seats that were also on the bottom but around the sides that looked really good! :) The stage was pretty high, I don't think I would want to sit too close.

Sorry I didn't see the balconies very well. :(

Yes - I think they were 50 euro? Or 40-something? For the Flamenco show.

Perhaps those recommending the balcony are thinking of the views of the hall itself as much or more than the stage. I seem to remember from my tour that the size of the stage changes depending on the performance. For instance, an orchestra takes up a lot of room that would be filled with seats for a flamenco performance.
