One of our favorite things to do while traveling is to stop in a sidewalk cafe for an afternoon drink or find a park bench to eat a snack and watch the people go by. We’re traveling March 19 to April 2 so I don’t know if it will be warm enough. We’ll be in Granada, Seville, Cordoba and Madrid. We’re staying in central Airbnb locations in all the cities. Any favorite places?
In Madrid, Retiro Park would be a good option, but it is not located in the center of the city; it's near Atocha Station and the Prado.
La Campana in Seville.

I agree with Retiro Park in Madrid. In Granada try the Albayzin. Go to Mirador San Nicholas and just sit and watch. Or find one of the other squares in the area - I like Plaza Larga - the other squares are plenty touristed but not quite as packed with gawkers as San Nicholas...but it is the one with the view, so its popular for a reason. Also, in Granada consider the Paseo de los Tristes along Carrera del Darro at the foot of the Alhambra hill.
In Granada, Plaza de Santa Ana and Plaza Nuevo near the cathedral always seemed to be busy. In Madrid, I second Retiro Park. In Sevilla, the Plaza in front of the cathedral and alcazar, or, the Plaza de Espana (no cafes at it).
In Cordoba, Plaza de las Tendillas - lots of gelato shops in the area. And, any place between there and the Roman Bridge.
Salamanca district in Madrid.
Thanks for all the great suggestions, especially since a lot of them are close to where we're staying. Glad you mentioned gelato - my husband is a big fan.
