Best hotels to stay at in Barcelona?

Will be in Barcelona for 2 days and wondering what is the best hotel or best location for a hotel to see the big sights like La Segrada Familia and Park Guell?

What's your nightly hotel budget? Barcelona is a large, popular city. It must have hundreds of hotels, most of them perfectly OK for the price they are charging. For useful recommendations, we need to know what you are willing to spend.

Parc Guell is northwest of the center of the city. Most people probably hop in a taxi (they aren't expensive) to get there, because the park is quite an uphill walk from the nearest Metro station. It's a nice downhill walk from Parc Guell toward the center of town, passing through the Gracia neighborhood and then through the Eixample with its modernista buildings scattered around.

For other sights, the Metro and buses work very well. La Sagrada Familia is southeast of Parc Guell but north of many of the other popular sights in the city. The Cathedral de Barcelona is surrounded by the historic center.

In case you are not aware, Barcelona's top sights are very popular and have very long ticket lines. You don't want to walk up to places like La Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell, expecting to buy a ticket and get inside soon. Other problem sights calling for pre-purchase of tickets include Casa Mila/La Pedrera, Casa Batllo and the Picasso Museum. La Sagrada Familia may be the one likeliest to sell out.

We loved Hotel Praktik Rambla…for walkable location, lovely room and wonderful staff. Parc Guell was the one bus ride we made.

We stayed at The Corner Hotel. Not the most Spanish sounding place, but we enjoyed it. The hotel has a rooftop bar, a comfortable lounge area and decent breakfast. We walked to the hotel from the square near the university where the airport bus stops and we also walked to Barcelona Sants station on the way out. Was not a fan of Las Ramblas or would want to be near it. Too many people walking too slow.

We stayed at Hotel Well and Come and highly recommend it . They have a complimentary breakfast as well. It's located in the Eixample district and is a short walk to La Sagrada Familia as well as La Pedrera and Casa Battlo. We did take a taxi up to Parc Guell though.

We liked the Hotel Granvia. Wonderful library, and rooftop. Breakfast was delicious, with plentiful choices in a large, comfortable room. I would request a room with external window. Ours overlooked interior courtyard.
