Best cheap airport hotel/hostel? Madrid Barajas

Spending 3 weeks in Europe with a friend and bought round-trip airfare via Madrid. Spending our first week in Spain then flying back to Madrid the day before our flight back to the U.S. Our flight arrives at Barajas at 9:30am. I thought it would make the most sense to stay at an airport hotel, so we'd take the shuttle to the hotel, drop our backpacks off, then take the metro into the city for one last rendezvous for the remainder of the day/evening before taking the metro back to the hotel. Our flight departs the next day at 12:45pm.

On a wicked tight budget, so I think the best options I've found, all for 45 euro for the night (this is the total price not per person, right?) are AXOR Feria, Ibis, and Hostal Viky. Any insight on the differences between these three? Which would you recommend? Or a completely different one?

(I know myself, and I'd prefer to sleep near the airport rather than in the city so as not to be stressed out worrying about waking up and timing the metro correctly in the morning.)

I have stayed at the Ibis...Very nice, clean, comfortable. Not sure about the direct access to Madrid proper, however. There is shuttle to the airport, and from there you can get the airport express bus to one of its three stops. The most central to 'downtown; would be Cibeles, and then reverse the process on the return. Cost is five euros, and the ride about 25 minutes to the last stop at Atocha. The drop off spot for Cibeles is not the same as the pickup spot. Be sure to find the pickup on the side of the street, not the fountain drop off spot.

I haven't stayed near the airport, but I second the suggestion of the Airport Express bus. It only has four stops - two at the airport, one at Cibeles, and one at Atocha Station. The stop at Cibeles puts you just down the street from the Prado, the Thyssen museum, Retiro Park, and just a short walk to Puerta del Sol and the Plaza Mayor. The departure point back to the airport is next to the Maritime Museum, just south of the fountain.
