One week add on to Basque tour exploring Asturias and Catabria.
Starting in Bilboa--detour to Potes for two nights - and then three days in Oviedo.
Of the myriad of beaches suggestions on which ones not to miss--late September. So many gorgeous ones!!
Don't need to vist the nude beach though after enjoying the Pintxos

Will you have a rental car?
If not, there are some good beaches near Bilbao, but by late September, I would not expect to sunbathe....it's still probably possible to swim, though, if you re not too fussy about water temperature....
With a car there are many options, but from which place?
West of Oviedo, there is a glorious beach at Cabo Busto, Playa del Bozo, with a walking trail, but the entire coast is lined with beautiful beaches,, some more accessible than others... they wont' have facilities, however..
Easy to reach from Potes, with a car: Playa de Oyambre.
We've always had a car in those areas so I would not know about public transportation...you really should rent a car.

There are several beautiful beaches around Llanes, which is not too far from Potes. Especially Torimbia and Toranda beaches in Niembru. Otherwise, Oyambre is an excellent suggestion indeed.
The coast west of Avilés is much wilder. If you have time for a day trip along the coast from Oviedo, you could check out the village of Cudillero, Playa del Silencio, La Regalina above Playa de Cadavedo, and finally Cabo Busto (where Playa del Bozo is located) before heading back to Oviedo.
