Best base for sherry?

We are doing a quick winter trip to Andalucia and would like to spend a couple of days exploring sherry. We would like to do some tastings, maybe visit some wineries, etc.

We will have a car.

We would be happy with a pretty town, atmospheric village, or countryside inn.

Any recommendations on location, accommodation, specific wineries would be most welcome!

Jerez de la Frontera, And visit Tio Pepe. They offer a very nice tour of their facilities with tastings and food.

For sherry you need to go to Jerez as Suki stated. All the major bodegas are there,p; Tío Pepe, Osborne, William & Humbert, etc.

I'll put in a third vote for Jerez de la Frontera. In addition to sherry bodegas, there are numerous humble sherry bars, or tabancos, some of which offer live, totally un-touristy flamenco in the evening. (Note that my visit was Dec. 2019 -- I don't know whether the subsequent pandemic has changed things.) Though you can't call Jerez a village, its historic center is truly atmospheric, with nice spots for sidewalk dining. As for accommodations, I can recommend the Doña Blanca, where I stayed; a good, independent, mid-range hotel.
