Since we plan to stay at the Barcelona Airport the night before our flight home, we wonder if anyone has recommendation for one hotel over the others. Thanks.

Barb... there's no reason to stay at the airport... there's nothing to do there (and the neighbouring areas are probably some of those exceptions I always mention when I say Barcelona is safe). You can get to/from the airport at any time (day bus, night bus and taxis) and Barcelona is merely 15km away. If you take a hotel say in the area of Plaça Espanya, one of the 'entrances' so to speak to the city by the west (closest to the airport) you can enjoy your last night in a nice restaurant or seeing the Magic Fountain (on certain days) -which is right there- or simply having a stroll... In that area there are many hotels, one being Hotel Catalonia Barcelona Plaza.

Enric, Thank you so much for the much needed advice. Maybe, now we will spend 2 nights in Barcelona.
