I’m using Haro as a base in early May to explore Rioja Alto and dip into Basque Country for the highlights.
I’d like to have a nature day and do some light to moderate hiking. Can someone recommend something nice or even spectacular that would be within reasonable distance? I will have a car.

I’m not certain how scenic that stretch is, but the French Camino de Santiago goes between Logroño and Santo Domingo de la Calzada and continues to Burgos.
There are a number of hiking areas in Obarenes-Sierra de Cantabria, near Haro, but I know nothing about them.
This info may be of help, https://www.haroturismo.org/en/haro-y-su-entorno/mapas-y-rutas/rutas, it´s available in English and the routes depart from Haro, light hiking. You can easily walk from Rioja Alta to Rioja Alavesa, landscapes are very similar.
There are some nice hikes around San Vicente de la Sonsierra.
The town hall of San Vicente has some good hikes on their webpage, but only in Spanish.
