Basque cider house experiences

We are beginning the fourth day of our Basque trip. Tomorrow we’ll drive from Getaria to our next hotel in Bayonne. The following morning we’re driving to the Dordogne I saw a video that included a meal at a cider house. Can anyone here advise us? I’m a little worried about the quantity and quality of the food. Also it sounds like a lengthy production. But it also sounds really fun. We’ve had great seafood meals but I I’m ready for something different. Will we roll out of one of these cider house meals too full or drunk to drive (and enjoy) our tours through the rest of our eastward trip? I want to be able to enjoy our evening in Bayonne! Thanks!

It is a lengthy meal and it is a lot of food, but usually very good! There are some cidreries / sidrerías in Bayonne itself if it is more convenient for you, including La Txunga where I went many many years ago - reviews still look good.

The amount you drink is in your hands. Basque cider is a bit of an acquired taste anyway; I like it but I know many who don't, and excessive consumption can have adverse digestive conséquences.
