Basque area wineries or foodie sites

We will be visiting the Basque region for a few days in November. Any recommendations for winery visits in Bilbao or the vicinity? We will have a car for one day and a few hours we'd like to fill with a tasty adventure.

The Basque region has many unique gastronomic specialties. I'd love to do some kind of tasting or dinner where we could learn about the regional cuisine, too.

I read about an underwater winery on the coast called Crusoe Treasure. They age their wine under water, and you can go out in a boat where they haul up a few bottles to open and taste. Sounds fun...or gimmicky? Has anyone visited this place or know anything about it?

Around Bilbao you can only find "txakoli" wineries from Bizkaiko Txakolina D.O. (our unique wine, txakoli, has three DOs, Bizkaiko, Getariako and Arabako). Most of them offer visits and you can find more info here https://bizkaikotxakolina.eus/en/. Rioja wine region is just one hour away.

Crusoe Treasure underwater cellar is in Plentzia, a quaint unspoilt town on the coast. It´s a nice experience and worth it given its uniqueness. I´ve been there quite a few times and the scenery is outstanding.

Food is our religion and discovering our gastronomic ways is really worth it. You may want to try a pintxos tour, so you can have a good starting point to a part of our food culture. Of course, tasting different wines in each bar (or our cider, not sweet and not bubbly).
