Barcelona Trip Questions

Hi All,

It's been years since I've posted on this site...family issues have taken priority over European travels. We are now in the process of booking a trip to Barcelona for 11/18-11/23. I usually book everything separately, but one of my daughters recommended a website that packages air and hotel for really reasonable prices, so I'm gonna try it.

My questions for you:

  1. The hotel is called the Hotel Reding Croma...it has good reviews, but wanted input as to whether it's a good choice or not. Cleanliness, comfort, and convenience are important to me. I'd like to be near Las Ramblas and the hotel does look close on a map.

  2. Our flight home leaves at 7:50 AM, meaning we'd need to be at the airport by 5:50 AM. What would be the best way to get to the airport that early? Should we get a hotel closer to the airport for our final night?

  3. Stupid question...I cannot recall when we go through customs? Is it at our final destination or once we enter another country? For example, our flight home has a 2 1/2 hr layover in London...will we have to do anything other than change planes?

  4. Weather in November...will we need large jackets, gloves, umbrellas, etc.?

  1. Read the reviews in booking.com (only people that have stayed there can submit reviews) or tripadvisor for your hotel. You will get more volume that way.

  2. Take a taxi have the hotel arrange that the night before; or some stay at a hotel by the airport.

  3. If you leave Barcelona to go to London the airline would check luggage to your final destination in the USA.
    You will probably go through passport control in London (not customs) to reach gate of connecting flight.

4, This site has the weather averages in November. Check the weather before you leave to see if rain is forecasted during your stay.

Either way still try to book separately and add up costs to see if it is cheaper than the site your daughters recommended.
