Barcelona to Valencia Train Options

Hello everyone, excuse my ignorance but i have read on a number of post that there is a train option from Barcelona to Valencia but when I try to check for timetables and/or service I can t seem to find it. I have been on Renfe's website as well as EuroRail. Renfe takes me all the way to Madrid to get back down to Valencia and Eurorail shows a route map but no available trains. My trip is in March.

Thank you for your assistance.

Take the bus: https://www.alsa.com/en/web/bus/home or rent a car.

RENFE has service on that route but they do not make the tickets available for purchase at a set time; sometimes it's 90 days in advance sometimes as late as a week in advance and that frustrates many travelers.

IIRC, Renfe only sells tickets for their trains. I used trainline.com and selected from ALL the available train options for Barcelona to Valencia. Besides, I could not get the renfe site to work for us. Good luck.

thanks, I tried both suggestions and all trains take over 6 hours via Madrid. Maybe as i get closer to my trip other trains open up?

One can see the 3-hour fast EuroMed trains from Barcelona to Valencia on RailNinja. Not sure why they don't show up on Renfe; Wikipedia says Renfe owns EuroMed.

Do not buy from Rail Ninja under any circumstances. It has a very bad reputation, not limited to grossly overcharging. Google for reviews if you need confirmation.

Just wait, Renfe are notorious for releasing their tickets in an unpredictable way. To quote the Man in Seat 61:

"Renfe is a law unto itself and loads what it likes when it likes, in blocks of dates. On major routes where it has competition, it may open sales up to 11 months ahead. On routes without competition sales may open as little as 30 days before departure, and often some trains appear before others. Did I say 30 days? I've seen Madrid-San Sebastian trains from 22 July onwards only open for booking on 7 July!
So if you go online and don't see the complete train service which you're expecting to see with over a month to go, WAIT, chances are that all trains are not yet loaded.
"

Eventually they will go on sale, the direct Euromed trains take you from Barcelona to Valencia in a bit under 3 hours.
