Hi to all. I have a cruise next spring where I was to fly into Barcelona and stay for a couple of days, then board the ship. They have changed the embarkation now to Tarragona, about 60 miles down the coast. I believe my best option is to take the train (which line?), and then taxi to the wharf. I am wondering if I can get tickets at the train station the morning of relating to Tarragona, or should I buy tickets ahead? Also is it recommended that I get first class tickets for seat assignments? Also, does anyone recommend other forms of travel? Thank you for any suggestions/experience.

welcome to the forum, jcubbon. Since the cruise line changed your port of departure it seems they will have a literal boat load of passengers in the same situation as I suspect many others are flying in to Barcelona as well. Did they not offer any suggestions? There is an airport in Tarragona but there are no direct flights from BCN. Train or bus are likely your best options. I personally prefer buying ahead especially if I have fixed dates.
