Barcelona to Madrid itinerary help

Just purchased my airline tickets. I need help in planning my itinerary. I arrive in Barcelona on the 10/30 around 1:30 pm. I depart from Madrid on 11-9. Please help me fill in the blanks with your suggestions. My simple plan is Barcelona, Seville, Madrid. My ambitious plan is to add Granada to that mix. Thank you for all your help

Ten days, really nine, Three Barcelona, Three Madrid, Sevilla, teo, one day to Córdoba.
I prefer Madrid and Sevilla myself. This is really stretching it.
Are you aware of the new US State Dept’s new higher security alert for Barcelona, from the US Embassy in Barcelona? Stay alert, don’t attract attention by wearing jewelry, etc.

With the limited time you have, I’d stick with Madrid and Barcelona, taking a couple days trips from each. It’s my opinion you’d be shortchanging yourself by trying to squeeze in Sevilla.

I like the simple plan, it's a bit rushed but not critically so.
- 30/10-02/11 Barcelona, three full days being the minimum I'd consider for Barcelona
- Travel to Sevilla on 03/11
- 03/11-05/11 Sevilla, day trip to Cordoba is a possibility but only leaves you with one full day in Sevilla
- Train to Madrid on 06/11
- 06/11-09/11 Madrid, one day trip (e.g. Toledo) is a possibility

Granada only works if you can still get tickets for the Alhambra. It might be sold out by now and then you are scrambling for other ways to buy the tickets. One strategy is to buy the Dobla D'Oro ticket. It's a slightly more expensive but very affordable.
What are your interests when you travel, and what is your pace? Some folks want the taster route others want 4 courses and 'see it all'....for one location.
If you can get tickets, you could do:
10/30 - Barcelona
11/02 - depart for Granada early morning arrive mid day O/N Granada
11/03 - morning Alhambra visit (if possible), depart for Seville mid-late afternoon. (the Alhambra has large luggage lockers near the Nazrid Palace so enter from the Justice gate, drop luggage, see the Palace on your timed ticket, then fit in as much of the rest of the site as you can...or do the site first after dropping off luggage). O/N Seville
11/4-11/5 - Seville
11/6 - Train to Cordoba with luggage. Drop luggage at the bus station across from the train station. Visit and then train on to Madrid. O/N Madrid
11/7-11/9 Madrid
This is the 'taster' route. You can easily drop Cordoba, then Granada or Seville. And to be honest, as mentioned above, just visit Madrid and Barcelona with day trips. I am not fully up on Barcelona, but I know there are beach areas, some pilgramage place with hiking, Dali's home town. Madrid offers Segovia for Roman Aqueducts and great roast suckling pig, or day or two in Toledo.

There are still tickets available. Barcelona, Granada, Madrid ? What is the Doble d Oro? Is it worth it?

The Dobla de Oro ticket covers a few additional, more minor, sights. I took full advantage of it because I like Moorish architecture. But I had 4 nights in Granada. The sights are a bit scattered, and the typical tourist probably wouldn't have time to see them all, in which case the Dobla de Oro ticket probably wouldn't save any money.

Everyone has a different idea of a good travel experience. For me, while I enjoy riding on European trains, I am very selfish about maximizing the amount of time I have in my destination cities. I was in almost the exact situation as yours. We got flights into Barcelona and out of Madrid with 9 days between. I wanted to see Seville too but I decided to save it for the next time. My reason was: The train ride from Barcelona to Seville takes 6 hours (10 am to 4 pm). Then, when you arrive you have to take a taxi to your hotel and probably wait in line at the front desk to check in and then get oriented to your room. So you've basically spent a whole day traveling. Then you have to allow another half day taking the train to Madrid and getting into another hotel there.
We decided to spend 5 days in Barcelona and 4 in Madrid and have more time to absorb each city a little more.
Just something to think about.

You have 10 nights. Do you think you will return to Spain, specifically to Andalusia? If not, and because the Alhambra is on your bucket list, I suggest visiting Barcelona, Granada, and Madrid. You could fly from Barcelona to Granada to save time. A possible itinerary could be 5 nights in Barcelona, 2 nights in Granada, and 3 nights in Madrid. I suggest more nights for Barcelona because it is larger than Madrid, and many of the Gaudi sites require pre-booking. Or you could do 4 nights Barcelona, 2 nights Granada, and 4 nights Madrid.

I love Seville but I think if you try to include Seville, you will be spending too much time traveling, and not enough time seeing the places you want to see.

Yesterday I checked the Alhambra site for tickets for another post. All dates through November 3 were sold out. So you're in a tricky situation. Until you have a route planned, you don't know if Granada fits in. But by then tickets may not be available.

I count 10 nights and 9 days since your first doesn't count, by the time you get through the airport and to your hotel, you'll probably just be struggling to stay awake until it's late enough to go to bed and on your last day, all you'll be doing is going to the airport.

Every time you change locations you eat up about 1/2 day. Also daylight hours are short in November. In Barcelona sunset's around 5.45 and 6. 00- 6.15 in Sevilla/Cordoba/Madrid.
