Barcelona to Girona to Pals to Calella de Pallafrugel

Was thinking of renting a car in Barcelona in the early morning and driving to Girona for a couple of hours to see the sights then drive to Pals for a couple of hours. Then off to Calella de Pallafrugel for dinner and drive back to Barcelona. Does this seem reasonable? I know we could spend a lot more time in each of these places but we don't have a lot of time and want to make the most of it. Thanks

I would say that it sounds reasonable enough, Girona definitely requires 3-4 hrs at least, Pals is quaint but probably will take you closer to 1 hr to see. Consider also the town of Tossa de Mar for a nice dinner on the Costa Brava.
