We are planning trip next April (I like to start planning early😀) to Barcelona and then through Costa Brava to Carcasonne, France. I'd like some tips and thoughts about what I'm planning.
Arrive in Barcelona and spend 4 nights. One of those days take the train to Montserrat.
- is 4 nights enough to include Montserrat and still see the sights in Barcelona
- Does anyone have recommendations of where to stay? Our adult son is meeting us there, so a 2 BR apt would be great.
Rent a car to head up the coast - I'm thinking that the spots we might want to see are Tossa de Mar, then the botanical gardens (Jardins de Cap Roig) then sleep in Palafrugell or nearby. Any recommendations for a good place to stay. On this part of the trip it will just be my husband and me.
Next day, drive to Cadeques, explore and then go on to Carcassone. Spend 2 nights in Carcassone.
Then head back through the Pyrenees, possibly stopping at the National Park there or the baths at Ax les Thermes ( would love thoughts on either of those or other possibilities). Drive to Girona and spend the night. Explore Girona the next day and then head to Barcelona to return car, spend the night and fly home the next day.
