Barcelona <-> Seville train vs. flight

Hi, we are planning to visit both Barcelona and Seville and wanted to know if the train between the 2 cities is scenic. Or is taking a quick flight the best? I was thinking of flying 1 way and taking the train the other way but didn't know if it was worth the extra time.

Thanks

We decided to fly last year because I think there were more departures available. It was super easy and we flew on Vueling.

When you ask if it's worth the extra time, keep in mind that you can take the train between the cities in around 5:20. When you add all the faff that comes with flying (travelling to and from airports, check in and security etc.), there's not much extra time involved with the train.

The extra time with the train is minimal, especially if you palan to reach airports by public transportation.
Your approach to try both options is a good one, as it will give you a point of reference for your future trips and travel preferences. I would choose to fly out of Seville rather than Barcelona, because Seville airport is smaller and quicker to get through.

I don't remember a lot of exceptional scenery along the Barcelona-Madrid Seville train route, but I'd definitely opt for the train in your situation.
