Barcelona, Sevilla, Granada, Cordoba and Madrid

Here is an itinerary we did last May. I've had some request this again... Hope it helps.

Spain Trip
May 3-15 (11 days)
Barcelona, Sevilla, Cordoba, Granada, Madrid
Family of six adults
Booked most of the sights, trains and buses before arriving in Spain
Hope this helps!
Day 1 - Travel - Los Angeles to Barcelona - Barcelona - walkable and tons of taxis if needed
Day 2 - Arrive Barcelona at 7:30am - taxi to AirBnb in Eixample District
• Walk El Gotic area
• Cathedral of Barcelona - pay 3Euros and go to top for great view of city
• Lunch at Con Conesa (Seen on Diners Drive ins and Dives) - Good sausage sandwiches
• Early Dinner at Paco Meralgo in Eixample District – Highly recommended
• Drinks at Dry Martini - voted one of the best bars in the world – Highly recommended
• Night cap at Paradiso / Pastrami Bar - Great Bar Speakeasy – Highly Recommended
Day 3
• Breakfast at El Quinn in the la Boquería –off the Ramblas
• Walked the Ramblas - tons of people – watch your belongings
• Bus tour of the city - 2 hours – recommended
• Sagrada Família – inside quite amazing – would not recommend the tour
• Dinner at Bar El Velódromo - lots of locals – highly recommended
Day 4
• Lunch Bar Del Pla in El Born District – Highly recommended
• Picasso museum – Highly recommended
• The Palau de la Música Catalana – See a concert here. Highly recommended
• Dinner at 7 Portes Upscale, expensive - nice ambiance – Paella okay
Day 5 - Travel Day – Barcelona to Sevilla by Train -

• We took the high speed AVE train – loved it…saw the country side 5/ ½ hours no regrets…peaceful and relaxing
• Checked into AirBnb in the Triana neighborhood on the river…love this area.
• Lunch at Las golondrinas in Triana area…Highly recommended
• Las Casa del Flamenco - Spanish guitar and Flamenco - highly recommended
Day 6 Sevilla
• Sevilla Walking Tours - Rick Steves Recommended - both city tour and Alcazar and Cathedral tour. Highly recommended. Concepcion is a great host.
• Lunch at Bodga Santa Cruz - true tapas experience. Lots of locals. Highly Recommended
• Churros and Chocolate at Bar El Comercio
• Tapas at Blanca Paloma in Triana District - very local - Highly recommended
• View on top Mushroom bldg. - interesting. Roman ruins below building
• Dinner Casa Cuesta - cool vibe with locals
Day 7
• Breakfast at Las Columnas in Triana - I really liked this place. For 3.50 Euros you get a sandwich, coffee and orange juice.
• Lunch at Bar Catalina - nice outside vibe - recommended
• Tapas Soy El Sombre in Triana - old bar and highly recommended
• Dinner at Baratillo in Sevilla – highly recommended
Day 8 Travel Day to Cordoba - Train (about an hour or so)
• Checked into Airbnb
• Lunch at El Churrasco - Cool place…touristy but great service and food
• Tour of the Mezquita - Highly recommended
• Dinner at Bodegas Campos, Pretty good, nice atmosphere
Day 9 - Travel to Granada - by Bus - 2 ½ hours – (winding roads)
• Check into Air BnB near the Alhambra
• Drinks and tapas - El Rincon del Chapiz
• Tapas Seafood – Diamantes - highly recommended
• Heladeria los Italianos Ice Cream – Italian vibe - highly recommended
Day 10
• Tour of the Alhambra – A must see
• Lunch at Restaurant-Carmen Mirador de Aixa Incredible views of the Alhambra – A must visit day or night

• Tapas at La Tana - loved this place – highly recommended
• Tapas at Roserio Varela - cool vibe – highly recommended
Day 11 – Travel – Granada to Madrid by Bus (4 ½ hours – mostly highway)
Hotel - AC Hotel by Marriott Avenida de America
• Royal Palace - worth the visit
Day 12 - Madrid
• Prado Museum and Picasso Museum - a must see
• Tapas at El colmado de picon - cool neighborhood tapas - loved it
Day 13 - Travel Day from Madrid to Los Angeles

Did you eat at El Baratillo on Calle Adriano in Seville on Day 7? That was the favorite meal of our trip in October 2017.

jklwinone - Thanks for the great recap of your trip. We are doing an almost identical trip in a couple of months. We have three more days so we are rending a car for a couple days and including Ronda and a day trip from Tarifa to Tangier (and not staying over in Cordoba) and have a couple more nights in Madrid... but the rest is the same. I've made note of your restaurant choices and we will probably try some of them.
