Barcelona's Sagrada Familia and the Passion Tower vs. Nativity Tower

Hi All,

We're ramping up for our trip to Spain in late April, and in doing so are buying advance tickets online to tour the Sagrada Familia while in Barcelona. We plan to add on one of the tower tours and are unsure which one to choose ~ either the Tower on the Passion Facade or the Tower on the Nativity Facade. We have read in Rick's guide book, Spain 2015, about the two and the differences as it relates to the elevators, stairs, and the bridge that connects the towers. I have also searched on YouTube and it seems there are more posts on the Passion than the Nativity. Nevertheless, we are leaning towards the Tower on the Nativity Facade, but still wanted to ask for some other visitor feedback. Any/all input and/or insight is appreciated.

I believe one of the towers is currently closed. There was a previous thread on this site. Did you check their website? I will see if I can find it.

Ok I found the information. You can search for the link SAGRADA FAMILIA- 1 TOWER CLOSED. (My cell allows me to copy but not paste the link) As of 2/16/16 the Passion Tower is closed until further notice. It is possible it may be opened again by the time of your visit but you will need to check. The Nativity Tower is still open. I didn't go up the towers last year but the basilica is absolutely amazing. Enjoy Barcelona!! One of my favorite cities :)

Thanks, Steve! All great to know and I appreciate you taking the time to circle back with the additional information too. Seemingly it now makes the deciding part easy. ;) Plus the one we were leaning towards in the first place is the one that remains open. This is our first visit to Barcelona and it looks like it is going to be amazing!

Happy to help Jeff! That is what this forum is all about. Barcelona is amazing and you will love it. If you have specific questions regarding Barcelona or Catalunya post them and Enric will have the answers. He lives in Barcelona and checks the forum often. He is an invaluable source of information and was a great help to me when I visited last year as well as many others can attest to.
Shot out to Enric. You are awesome!!!
