Barcelona road trip through Costa Brava to Carcassone and up to Basque Country

Hello!

I know there have been posts before this that cover some or all of my questions but I am exhausted from rifling through them and am hopeful I can consolidate some advice here.

We fly into Barcelona Sept 18th and stay until Sept 22. We plan to go to the FC Barcelona game on the 20th. On the 22nd we will rent a car and take a scenic drive up the Costa Brvava and hope to stop in one or two spots on our way to Carcassone. We stay one night in Carcassone and will explore Carcassone the first half of the next day before driving up toward Biarritz, etc. We have one night to stay anywhere we choose and then stay in the Parte Vieja in San Sebastian from the 24th to the 27th or 28th before going home. Questions are....

1) Any tips on getting FC Barcelona tickets?
2) if we have time to stop in 2 places on our drive up the costa brava what is recommended (Cadaques and ???)?
3) if we rent a mini or economy size car will we be alright for the coastal and french drive?
4) If we stay night 1 in Carcassone where should we stay the next night on our way between carcassone and san sebastian?
5) we will be in san sebastian during the film festival. will it be fun and festive or kind of a nightmare due to crowds?
5) Any other tips on must do, must sees, tips, tricks, etc.?

We drove the opposite way, from Hondaribbia near San Sebastián to Barcelona. We took six days, stopped at Carcasonne, no need to stay overnight. My advice is to visit Carcassone not stay there. Stay in Collioure
(France) just north of Barcelona on one of your nights. It was one of our favorite places in a six week trip of Portugal, France and Northern Spain. It has a waterfront setting, charm, and the required castle. It was home to famous artists in the Fauvist movement, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Crzanne and Seurat, a storybook town.
