can anyone suggest a good resturant for paella. i am staying near the universitad area.
Just Google "barcelona paella restaurant" and you will find lots of "best" lists. This Time Out Barcelona list is just one example.
Almost forgot...this The Right Way and the Wrong Way to Spend Twenty-Four Hours in Spain is humorous and informative. Eating hours are different, to say the least.
We had a great experience at 7 Portes, in the gothic quarter. I had the rich man's seafood paella (no shells), my partner had the vegetable paella. We're going back this summer. There are others on this board who will give you lots of other recommendations. In fact, the cab driver told us that there were better restaurants, but 7 Portes was recommended to us by a cousin and we wanted to check it out. Apparently it's a hang out for foreign famous folks. Each booth has the name of someone famous who dined there. We sat at the Lou Reed booth, near the Yoko Ono booth. We had two bottles of wine (Vina Sol - yum!), appetizers, and probably dessert - so we ate really well and the bill was about $125 euros. It was our splurge birthday dinner. The server could not have been nicer or more attentive. I give it high marks, but I haven't seen anyone else here comment on it. Good luck. Buen viaje!
thank you soo much
