Barcelona Restaurants & Bar Recommendations

Hi, I will be in Barcelona 7/18-7/23 and was looking for recommendations for some good/interesting restaurants and bars. We will be staying in Poble-Sec but anything within the city would be great. 2 places we already know we want to do are Quimet & Quimet and Bar Marsella.

We will also be in Granada, Malaga, Ronda, Seville, Cordoba, Madrid and Toledo so any recommendations in these areas are welcome. Open to anything, thanks in advance!

Barcelona....Restaurant El Raco De La Villa...check out the web site...amazing , authentic, non tourist track.
Bernies Grill and Dinner...American diner, excellent food, basically at the rear of Santa Maria Del Mar church...a block or so...well worth a visit...try the fried green tomatoes...never had any thing like it anywhere else.

Bars...any in the area near the Picasso Museum.....the Born District...

Madrid Canadio Restaurant in Madrid near La Princessa Hospital.. A friend who lives there referred this to me as "the best tapas in Madrid' again, not touristy, in the Salamanca district, and fabulous!!! Eat on the side walk at one of the tables if possible.

Toledo Restaurantes Casa Aurelio check the web site...more than one location. I have eaten several times at the one near the city center.

Remember, all restaurants, bars, etc in Spain open around 9 pm or later!!! I have personally eaten at each of these and enjoyed the meals at each. And will return again, depending on the city I may visit.

Hello.

Enric might be able to give you some specifics about Barcelona, but I can recall several fantastic meals at the tapas bars in El Born. I particularly like the Euskal taverns, where you just walk up to the counter and pull off whatever you want.

For Granada, most places on Calle Navas are the place to be. The great thing about Granada, along with many bars in Madrid, is that tapas are free with each drink.

Sevilla-do not miss the Alameda de Hercules, which is a pleasant row of shops and tapas bars, with plenty of outdoor seating. It is off the tourist path, but definitely not far from the main sites. It's a 10-15 minute walk from the cathedral, and well worth it. HOHO buses have a stop there.

My favorite neighborhood in Madrid is La Latina, and the bars on Calle Cava Baja do not disappoint. I especially like Restaurante La Camarilla y La Colchoneria at Cava Baja 21 because they have craft beer. Don't forget to get a bocadillo de calamares off Plaza Mayor-La Campana is a solid choice.

The Lavapies neighborhood in Madrid and the Albayzin quarter in Granada are great places to enjoy some time away from jamon, which everybody needs now and then.
