Barcelona Placa de Catalunya to Circuit de Barcelona (F1 races)

We will be staying near Placa de Catalunya and need to get to the Circuit de Barcelona-Cataluyna race track on Friday May 12. We have an opportunity to be there for the Formula 1 Grand Prix test day.

Is there a shuttle? What bus or other public transportation would be your second choice after the shuttle?

If you've been there before, any advice, tips, pointers? We are in Barcelona 3 days and and need to squeeze this in with sightseeing so I want to be as efficient as possible. This is our only full day. I want to get in, see a few things, take pics and get back to town to sightsee.

Any and all input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

It looks like a half-hour drive but much longer by mass transit, like 1.5 hours, so you should look at race track websites to see if there is a shuttle or car-for-hire.
For sightseeing around Placa de Catalunya, see the RS guidebook!

From the Circuit de Barcelona website
"SPECIAL GRAND PRIX SERVICE

Sagalés offers round trips by bus from the Barcelona city centre, to the East Area of the Circuit. The buses depart from the North Bus Station in Barcelona (C/ Ali Bei, 80), from platforms 25, 26 and 27. The price of the return ticket is 12 euros per day and tickets are booked at Sagalés (tel. +34 902 130 014 Trip duration: 45 minutes."

Been to Barcelona. Never been to the circuit. This looks like your best option. It delivers you to the race track. Otherwise it is a 45 min walk from train and/or AVE from the closest station to the track.

Thank you both for the info. I had heard of the shuttle but I guess it was too soon to book anything because the schedule had not yet been posted but it is now. 12 euro per person each way is good price to get us right there.
