Barcelona, Palma and Ibiza

I realize we can't do everything on our short trip to Spain so looking for ideas and suggestions. My 12 year old daughter and I will be arriving in Barcelona on the morning of July 28 after a week in France and my husband will be joining us after a business trip in Germany the evening of the 30th. So, my daughter and I plan to explore Barcelona the 28th 30th. We are considering flying to Palma July 31st for a few days then flying from Palma to Ibiza for a few days then flying back to Barcelona. We'd explore Barcelona again that day then fly back to the States on August 5th. Do you think this is doable? If we were to only choose one of the islands which do you suggest? We are more interested in experiencing the culture and seeing the sites, not so much into the museums. Any and all ideas, tips and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We are headed over that way later in August. We are flying first to Palma and spending three nights there. From what I have seen, there is plenty to do in Mallorca by itself. You may want to relax a bit and stay just on one island, and then head back to Barcelona.

The good news is that there are quite a few flights that travel between Barcelona and the islands if you want to hop around.

Based only on reading (haven't been to the Balearics), it's my impression that Palma is the prettiest island and Ibiza is party central. As a family group, the heavy-drinking party scene may not be what you're looking for, so I suggest doing some additional research on Ibiza before committing to that part of the the trip.

Barcelona itself has tons to do and many great day-trips possibilities.

My family and I visit Mallorca on average twice a year and never tire of things to do and see, there is so much on the island that two days won't even scratch the surface.

I've been to Ibiza several times when I was younger but that was simply to party for a week.

I'm not particularly fussed about Barcelona, I consider it to be somewhat overrated and whilst I would never advocate not visiting it I would certainly opt for more time in Mallorca and less in Barcelona whilst skipping Ibiza completely.
