Barcelona-Madrid-Seville trip and transportation

We are planning a trip to Spain and Portugal. Does this itinerary make sense?
Fly from Phila to Barcelona. 3 nights in Barcelona
Train to Madrid- spend 2-3 nights
Train to Seville- spend 3-4 nights
Head to Portugal- fly from Seville to Porto soend 3 nights
Train to Lisbon - spend 3 nights
Fly from Lisbon back to Phila.
Appreciate thoughts.

I'd eliminate Madrid and give the nights to Sevilla and Lisbon. Sevilla needs at least 4 nights (3 days)

For the most part I think your itinerary makes sense. It also depends on what you want to do. We did Portugal and Spain as 2 separate trips. We spent 5 nights in Lisbon though and took day trips to Sintra, Obidos and Evora as well as toured the city itself. We stayed 3 nights in Porto and took a day trip to Coimbra. Recently we were in Spain this past April and flew from Boston to Barcelona, spent 3 days 2 nights there. From there we took a train to Madrid and spent 3 nights there. We also did a day trip to Toledo while in Madrid. From Madrid we took the train to Sevilla and only spent one night there . During the next day we were able to fit in touring the Alcazar , Seville Cathedral and Plaza de Espana and did not feel rushed. We could have used an extra day though in Sevilla but not 3 or 4.
