For places to eat in the Barri Gotic, you can try Bar Celta Pulperia. It's a Galician style tapas bar that specialises in Galician Octopus (Pulpo a la Gallega), among other things. It's pretty popular with locals and they have two locations, one in the Barri Gotic and one in El Born.

Another tapas place in the Barri Gotic is called Bar El Tropezón, their specialty is called "La Bomba", which is a giant fried potato croquette with spicy Brava sauce on top. I am a little iffy for Bar El Tropezón, as I have not been there in a while and heard it has gotten a bit touristy.

To complement your Sagrada Familia visit, you could also visit the Hospital de Sant Pau, which is just a short walk away. Hospital de Sant Pau is a Gaudi-esque modernisme complex built in the early 20th century as a hospital. It's now a museum and has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Sant Pau has significantly less tourists than La Sagrada Familia. My mom actually used to work there, before they closed down hospital.

Check if the cathedral is part of the Barri Gotic walking tour. You will see the Palau de la Musica better with a tour. Check their calendar on the official website to see if there's a performance that interests you.

You are packing in a lot on your first day. Then you say "crash." If you are going to be tired (maybe jetlagged?) consider taking it easy.

Saturday - maybe walk to Sant Pau, a 10-15 minute walk from La Sagrada Familia.
