I asked this same question months ago from the Forum and received very helpful answers. I tried to find my post and responses but can not.
But I booked Hotel Continental Barcelona based on responses from this forum. I will not be going until next month and will be posting an evaluation hopefully while I am still there.
Another very well traveled member on this forum highly recommended HCC Montblanc. Others recommended Jazz Hotel and Hotel Lleo.
On another site, any and all H10 Hotels were very highly recommended. So was The Colon Hotel.
I am going to continue looking for my post / question.

I stayed at HCC Montblanc years ago and would recommend it. Very walkable to the shops/restaurants/transportation at Plaza Catalunya, and also very walkable to the top of Las Ramblas. However, when I stayed, I did notice my room didn't have enough power outlets for all my devices, so I'd recommend bringing a USB charging hub.
