Barcelona Hotel Help: ME barcelona, Hotel 1898, Yurbban Passage, Kimpton Vividor

Hi - I am coming to Barcelona in August for 5 nights. I have been once before and stayed at H10 Montcada in El Born and enjoyed that area. I am coming with my mum - will be looking to do sightseeing, nice dinners, tourist stuff. I was looking at hotels - kinda in the 300-350 range and found the below and would love some help deciding: we like to walk around/ explore and also a good hotel 4-5 stars.

1) ME Barcelona - Amex plat has a great deal on this hotel since its a FINE hotel (free breakfast)- but is this a good neighborhood vs. El Born? I read its central. Also the hotel kinda looks huge/ sterile though it gets good reviews.. any thoughts?

2) Hotel 1898 - looks pretty nice - thoughts?

3) Yurbban Passage Hotel & Spa OR Yurbban Ramblas Boutique Hotel

4) Kimpton Vividora - This also looks good - a bit more pricier than i would like but is this a lot better than the ME Barcelona?

thank you!!

I would select the hotel ME Barcelona for its location just 4 blocks from Gaudi’s Casa Mila and Casa Battlo. The Block of Discord is also nearby. The Eixample neighborhood is where the mansions of Barcelona’s scions were built. And the Passeig de Gracia is a fascinating area for shops and cafes.
Another advantage is the transit center underground at the Passeig de Gracia . It is both a metro station and a Rodalies commuter train station so you can easily get here from the airport by train and you can daytrip to cities like Girona, Tarragona and Sitges without having to go to the overwhelmingly-busy and crowded Barcelona Sants train station.

Thanks very much - this is super helpful. I will remove 1898 from my shortlist.

How do you compare Hotel Seventy or Majestic Hotel and Spa to ME Barcelona please? They are cheaper than ME and hotel 70 seems to get really great reviews (better than ME)

thank you again.

Thank you for the advice about hotels in Barcelona. We just booked the Praktik Rambla per your suggestion.
