Barcelona Hotel

Hello Forum Readers

Due to some great advice from Rick's forum my wife and I decided to spend a few nights in Barcelona before heading to Madrid. I have looked through Rick's Spain Tour book and cannot decide on a hotel in Barcelona. We are planning on spending three nights in town and would like to stay in or near the Old Town District. Typically we stay in 2-3 star hotels that offer clean rooms, fairly quiet settings and access to all the sights of a typical European city. I would like some suggestions from my fellow travelers in regard to the type of hotels I have described. We will be Barcelona in mid October and some of the hotels I have checked have begun to fill up. If you would be so kind to recommend some specific hotels I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

John Adrian

We stayed at the K& K Hotel Picasso Barcelona as tour members of a Rick Steves tour. It is very lovely, quiet and a wonderful staff.

We stayed at the Villa Emilia | Calle Calabria 115-117, 08015 Barcelona, Spain (Eixample).
It isn't exactly in Old Town, but is off of a very beautiful wide boulevard, close to a subway stop, and is a beautiful hotel with modern amenities and a relaxing rooftop lounge. Should be able to book for under $150/night in October.
