My daughter is currently attending a studies aboard program in Toledo. She is looking to travel to Barcelona for a few days in mid June and is looking for an inexpensive (but safe and clean) hostel in somewhat of a close proximity to the beach. Does anyone have any recommendations?

These 3 hostels are all in the Gothic Quarter with all its night time party action, and an easy work to Barceloneta beaches. Good article in the Guardian UK from June 2011.
