Hey fellow travelers,
We are going to Barcelona for the first time this fall. I would greatly appreciate any recommendations from your experiences for a private or group guide (city over-view, etc) as well as ideas for a day trip, we will only have time for one. Thank you in advance!

If you are only doing one day trip from Barcelona, I heartily recommend Taragona. The cathedral is great and the Roman sights are awesome! Enjoy!

Thanks for the recommendations. On the Viator tours, did you go private or with a group? If a group, how large was it? Also, which tours did you do/would you recommend specifically? There are a LOT on offer on their site. On the day trip, do you recommend Taragona over Montjuic or Montserrat? I will research it as the Roman ruins sound fascinating. Thanks again!
